Today it is possible to lend a helping hand with just a text, like, or a tweet. Please send a donation to the victims of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Listed below are some ways you can help.
Text and Donate:
- Text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
The $10 donation will automatically be charged to your phone bill, or donations can be made directly on its Web site.
The Red Cross has also launched a campaign on Causes to raise at least $25,000 for relief efforts.
By logging in to Facebook, you can donate anywhere from $10 to $500 to help Tsunami victims and their families. As of publishing time, the Causes campaign has raised over $119,400 from over 2,700 donors and 4,600 promoters.
{Last year, the Red Cross was able to raise over $20 million for Haiti relief through simple text donations.}
- Text JAPAN or QUAKE to 80888 to make a $10 donation to The Salvation Army.
(Make sure to respond “YES” to the Thank You message you receive.) Donations can also be made on the organization’s Web site or by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY.
- Text JAPAN to 50555 to give $10 to Global Giving.
Larger increments can be submitted on
Global Giving's website.
{GlobalGiving is working with International Medical Corps, Save the Children, and other organizations on the ground to disburse funds to organizations providing relief and emergency services to victims of the earthquake and tsunami.}
