Friday Faces: Princess Reema

How far would you go for a cause? Our Friday Face this week, Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan of Saudi Arabia, will be climbing to the base camp of Mount Everest along with 10 other women--yes, the Mount Everest--the raise awareness about breast cancer. The campaign launched by Princess Reema and the Zahra Breast Cancer Association of Saudi Arabia is called "A Women's Journey: Destination Mount Everest" with the climb slated for May.
Why the steep feat? The campaign aims to educate about one of the biggest ways to prevent breast cancer: healthy lifestyles. Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in Saudi women with 8,000 cases discovered annually, according to the Saudi Cancer Registry at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center. The campaign encourages Saudi women to support the climbers by walking at least 15 minutes a day.
We're proud to make a little contribution to the ascent--the climbers will be getting their SPF for the journey with Susan Posnick's Brush on Block. Princess Reema is an inspiration to women everywhere and we wish her and the team the best of luck!
