Everyone knows that the front row is serious business.
And that's exactly where Blake Lively was during the Chanel haute couture show, right next to the most influential woman in American fashion, Anna Wintour editor in chief of American Vogue. The night prior, Anna introduced Lively to the "unapproachable" chief designer of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld over dinner.
In the last year Blake Livelys sense of style has rocketed higher than "Gossip Girl" stars landing her the top spot of Vogue's 'Best Dressed of 2010' and the cover.
Today, Wednesday January 5, WWD reported that Karl Lagerfeld crowned the bombshell as Chanels 2011 S/S new face for the Mademoiselle handbag line.
“Though I am the face of it, I will carry it like every girl,” Lively said of the bag. “I will always feel it’s more than just a purse. It’s a quilted case full of lipstick, love letters and the dreams and possibilities that I have always felt every time I see that beautiful ‘CC.’ ” WWD
Oh My Chanel, that
is like
every girl.
I have had a similar dream- quilted Chanel case in white, red lipstick, [insert tall, dark and handsome], walking down the fashionable streets of Milan.
Blake Lively's quote inspired me; if you hope to break bread with the highly critical Lagerfeld and sit next to the fashion angel and/or angel of death, Anna Wintour... keep trying-
Afterall, “The human drive towards what is new.” (Karl Lagerfeld)
What do you think? Is she perfect for Chanel? Do you cringe at the thought? Follow your nose to the comment line and let me know!
