emmys red carpet review

Fierce Fashion
After reviewing this year’s Emmy Red Carpet, we have to say – for the
most part, we were a bit bored by the turn out. Most of the dresses were
what-were-you-thinking painful or simply (yawn) been-there-done-that.

The always surprising, always quirky, but always fabulous
January Jones,
is our favorite look of the evening! She kills in this cerulean
Versace
gown. We’re loving the short, full skirt with the long train and of
course those Madonna-chic cone cups. And how about that texture?
L-O-V-E. However, we’re itching for some added glam to her look (where are the jewels
January?!)... It’s the Emmys! Well, maybe we’re expecting too much...
after all we are used to clinking bangles with
the women who lunch in Dallas (and by lunch we mean
- dresses to the nines.)
With Jones’ simple hair and the plain black pump we expected to see
some sparkle hitting those camera flashes, or at least some umph on her
feet but we get the look she was going for: simple elegance, letting the
dress be her everything. And while we always appreciate easy beauty, we
still think she could have added a little jujsh to her look.
Regardless January, you look amazing! Way to take a risk (not that we
expect anything less from you, darling).
And the runner up?
Ms. Tina Fey in her grey and black geometric print
Oscar de la Renta gown. We are digging those cap sleeves, the short but
necessary train and, of course, the body hugging fit. She looks
fabulous! With her hair swept back in an elegant pony tail and the
perfect touch of jewelry (not too much, but not too little) she looks
glamorous but still totally Tina. She's Stunning!
