An Ode To...
Julia Roberts is known for her dazzling smile and her flawless skin. She can light up any room she walks into with out even trying and she’s not trying to change that any time soon. Our Anti-Botox girl is this week’s Friday Face.
We love Julia because of her beauty both inside and out. But after reading her interview in Elle we love her even more. Why? Because she’s not consumed by being “perfect”-ly altered.
“It’s unfortunate that we live in such a panicked, dysmorphic society where women don’t even give themselves a chance to see what they’ll look like as older persons. I want to have some idea of what I’ll look like before I start cleaning the slates. I want my kids to know when I’m pissed, when I’m happy, and when I’m confounded. Your face tells a story… and it shouldn’t be a story about your drive to the doctor’s office.”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. So many of us have become so obsessed with Hollywood’s definition of perfection and beauty, but the truth of the matter is that definition is flawed. Julia believes in having your own individual interpretation of beauty –for her, it is more about the life she leads with her family rather than her magazine covers or walking down red carpets. We could all take a page from her book. It seems to be working...
