Have you ever noticed how different colors you wear change your eye color and make them look more sultry or vibrant? Your lighting, your clothes and your eye shadow have magical powers to enhance and brighten your eyes. Makeup artists have been using this trick for years to really make eyes sparkle.

It’s as simple as choosing the right shade of shadow based on your eye color and the look you want to achieve- whether it be for a dramatic eye makeup look, or a fresh daytime palette.

BROWN Eyes- you are a "wear-with-anything" color, so jump on the rainbow. The neutral tones in your eyes go with all colors, so you can really pull off those brights or that sultry smokey eye.

For a fabulous smokey evening look, rim the top and bottom lashes with a black or charcoal gray liner. Smudge along both the top and bottom lashes, then layer a cool silvery shadow on the top lid, going back over your black eyeliner. Blending the shadow into the liner creates that sexy smokey look that is sure to catch his eye. For a different look, play with a splash of color; use amethyst or teal shadow and liner to brighten your eyes. (These are both great colors to use on a warm sunny day… for extra oomph, sweep gold shadow on the inner corners of your eye)

BLUE Eyes- the color wheel is your playground; the light color of they eye picks up any color, so, from dramatic to sultry, to very bright the possibilities are endless…

For a fun and bright summer look, experiment with marigold shadows and brown liners. Smudge bronze or navy eyeliner along the top and bottom lash line. This will bring out the gold halo around the pupil and make them shine like the sun.

GREEN Eyes- blues and purples are your best friends; The mix of colors in your eyes goes really well with contrasting colors; dabble in blue and purple shades, and you will glow.

For a modern fresh look, draw a navy liner along the top and bottom lashes to anchor the liner, and sweep a neutral taupe shadow across your lids. The navy brings out the warmth in your eyes making them glow. For a little retro twist, take the navy liner to the end of the lashes and create a flick…this look is ultra hip and really opens the eyes. For a fun evening, look draw a violet eyeliner in a sharp, tight line along both the top and bottom lashes. Smudge along the bottom lash line with your finger to soften your look. For an extra pop, sweep lavender shadow along the top lid and dust a shimmery white eye shadow on inner corners of eyes.

HAZEL Eyes- you can use ANY color your heart desires. Your eye color is a mix of brown, green, and gold which makes eyeshadow a fun game for you.

Fabulous summer colors for you are bronze, gold and turquoise but don’t be scared to play with purples and greys as well as greens and browns… even a pale pink and bronze liner looks stunning.

For a hot-off-the-runway summer look use turquoise, bronze and golds to really let the sunshine in; apply gold shimmer shadow all over the eye lid and inner corners of eyes, line the bottom and top lash line with bronze eyeliner, and finish the look off by layering your turquoise liner on top of the bronze liner (focus especially on the bottom lash line for an intense color). This color combination will bring out the greens and golds of those sultry eyes.
