She was one of those on again-off again "it girls" for decades, whose work finally proved her here to stay. Our Friday Face this week is Cybill Shepherd. We first met the model-turned-actress in the classics, 'The Last Picture Show' and 'The Heartbreak Kid,' and loved her 80's comeback in 'Moonlighting.'

Now we're TiVoing her performances as the brassy Texan mother of Jennifer Love Hewitt's character in Lifetime's 'The Client List.' The show about a single parent working to support her family at a massage parlor is definitely a guilty pleasure that Shepherd makes worth tuning into.

Shepherd also had a health scare in 2002, receiving treatment for a form of skin cancer--a benign growth on her back. Though she assured it wasn't serious, her mother, Patty Micci, told 'Star' magazine that like other women, Cybill tanned in her youth. But now, "Cybill makes sure she covers herself from head to toe whenever she goes out into the hot sun of the San Fernando Valley where she lives." It's simple, smart advice to heed from an actress who already has our attention.

I love the Neb and Helen story and I hope to someday taste the sakururaet. Even though I'm not a resident of Austin, I am enjoying reading about its people and its history. It would be interesting to me to learn more about the community's Esperanza (Spanish/Mexican) influences and history (which I am assuming exists).Lastly, this website is terrific; easy to use, and to read; its pictures are well selected, and of course, I love videos, too. I have been a judge for Missouri's national History Day program for several years, specifically for websites, and so I feel a bit comfortable in saying that your website is excellent.
