Friday Faces: Giuliana Rancic
Giuliana Rancic, the E! News anchor, is in all of our minds at the moment as she undergoes treatment for breast cancer. Rancic underwent a successful double mastectomy at the end of 2011. Now, following a short recovery time, has been back in the public eye gaining awareness for the disease. Taking this obstacle and carrying it as gracefully as she has make Giuliana quite a hero among the Susan Posnick staff.
Rancic, 36, was diagnosed with breast cancer back in October. Her prognosis was positive as the disease was caught early yet the impact of the news was devastating as expected.
"That was the hardest day ... (the emotions are) what you expect but so much more.” Rancic said. “It was incredible instant sobbing, and it was like the world just crashed down around me. I couldn't believe it, 36 years old, no family history."
Rancic caught the cancer while pursuing in-vitro fertilization with her husband Bill Rancic. She wasn’t intending on having a mammogram until 40 but chose to have one as apart of her in-vitro treatment. Rancic is devoted to telling her story to raise awareness of Breast Cancer among those not actively taking the suggested precautions.
We want to wish Rancic a full recovery. We also want to give our praises for being a graceful & inspiring woman through this hardship.
